Enough With The Crack!

Hi guys!

My appetite has been so weird all day!! I had lunch around 11:30, felt full and then got staaaarving around 1:30 and finally had my snack at 2:00. Well, that yogurt and plank like expanded in my stomach or something because I WAS SO FULL! I wasn’t even hungry for dinner! I think it has to do with stress and not working out today as well……and I had this coffee (formally known as crack because its like triple strength espresso stuff that the chef makes), had a HUGE caffeine high where I was running around the restaurant getting everything done……and then I crashed. That will definitely mess with your appetite!

Of course I ate dinner anyways. I knew once I had in front of me I would want it and I feel a ton better after I ate. Last night I defrosted some of the lean turkey meatballs I made a few weeks ago from Tosca Reno’s cookbook “The Eat Clean Diet”. These defrosted wonderfully in the fridge and when I got home from work, I just baked them for about 20 minutes and they were perfect! I had them atop a bowl of whole wheat pasta with organic pasta sauce. Mmmmm

I also had this salad with balsamic vinegar:

And one of my homemade chocolates for dessert! How good does this look???!!!

Tonight we are starting our practical at 8:30 and it goes until tomorrow night at 10:00. For the practical I have to make and decorate a chocolate box using dark, milk and white chocolates together. I also have a quiz on the history and making of chocolate tonight. For a snack later, I’m bringing one of my favorite nut bars:

I’m desperately hoping to get home before midnight tonight……….I’ve decided to hold off on exercising until Friday though. I don’t want to push my body until it, well, shuts down. I’m about to start a very strenuous training program and I need to be at the top of my game, physically and mentally. I’m taking tomorrow and the next day to just rest and recover and then will be starting up on Friday (and I’m finallyyyy getting new running shoes on Saturday!!!). I think my body needs some rest!

Dexter found a new home in the boxes I brought home from the restaurant to start packing up my stuff in…..

I already want to cry when I think about leaving him next month!!!!! I’m going to sob my eyes out for sure….

Hope your appetite regulates soon! I know how frustrating that can be (since I usually/always have a LACK of an appetite πŸ™ ).

I finally received my copy of β€œThe Eat Clean Diet” (not the cookbook, just the “regular” book) in the mail today – it’s been on back-order for OVER a month already!! I can’t wait to start reading it.

The photograph of your chocolate-caramel = food porn alert!!

Kudos for listening to your body!! Rest up πŸ™‚

Aww, Dexter!!! Savor the time you have left with him!!

You dinner and snacks look so good!

I know exactly what you mean about lacking an appetite – it happens to me – almost every night…

I am trying to change it with the adoption of a meal plan.

I hope you get it back!

I had a questiong quick. Is your pasta sauce just from a jar? And if so do you keep it in the fridge? I never know how long a jar will keep and was only use a little about once a week..could you freeze some in a bag do you think? Any tips would be great!

I was THIS close to buying rolos as an impulse purchase at target yesterday, so although I was still craving them all day today, that ooey-gooey caramel-filled chocolate picture somehow took care of it. Seriously, that chocolate looks so good I can basically taste it!

I have no idea if you read what I said yesterday about rest and exercise, but kudos to you for listening to your body!

    Laura,

You can def freeze pasta sauce! I put it in tupperwear but a bag would work just as well. IF you have space you could put it in individual baggies for each servings so it’s easy to defrost later.

I think it lasts in the fridge quite a while though (a month???). IT depends on how many preservatives it has in it and stuff though, so the more natural stuff won’t last as long.

    smjohnson,

ahhh i WISH chocolates were my favorite to make. Truth is, I really don’t like making them at all! They are SO messy, time consuming and it gives me headaches to have my face in chocolate for 6 hours. But…I’m learning a lot so its alright. My favorite thing to make is bread πŸ™‚

    Christie I,

Dexter cannot come with me because I’m staying at my friend’s parent’s house and her father is extremely allergic to cats. I’m really sad, but Dexter is going to live with Ryan and then I’ll be moving in with them both (!!) at Christmastime.

    twinks,

How excited am I???!?!! At the mall in Tampa they have this new running store where athletic trainers and running professions actually watch you run around a track and then fit you to the exact shoe you need. My feet naturally go inwards, putting more stress on my inner foot and therefore I think I need a specific shoe or insert to hopefully solve this..I think its what lead to my injury last year!

    Alex,

HAH! That’s my great-grandmother’s ring she handed down to me. I wear it sometimes….

    Rubin,

Although I wish I could help you more, my advice would be to actually seek out an RD in your area because you had a particular disorder. I can give advice on eating right, but not really on specific medical issues. Sorry!!

    Cailtin,

On friday I will be! I want to go to that park you wrote about! It looks so cute!

Yay for new running shoes! Hope they’re cute as well as make you feel like you’re running on air!
Your appetite will even out soon…stress in the brain sometimes leads to stress in the body, especially appetite! Have one of those fantastic-looking chocolates and think calmly.

Jenna…this is called “overpronating”. I do it too. I don’t wear corrective shoes though…instead I wear a neutral shoe, with an arch support inserted.
