Hello!
Here is when I show you a list of what I’m currently loving—these are some of my favorite posts to write! This month we have a mix of new cool kitchen stuff, books, hair, clothes and journals. I love August because I love the anticipation of Fall, my favorite season. I can’t WAIT to put on my boots, make pumpkin cheesecake bites and meet so many of you on my book tour {I’ll be announcing some additional dates/locations for that next week so stay tuned}! Sometimes it’s hard to stay focused on the present moment when you are looking forward to so much in the future. Thank goodness for yoga…nothing like an extra long warrior two to get you focused on the present!
The new Steamy Kitchen wok! I have one and just love it. Can you believe it’s the first wok I’ve ever owned? And such a snazzy red color, too. It’ll make your fried rice even more fab!
I really enjoyed this book by fellow blogger, Emily Freedman. Thanks, Sarah, for the great recommendation (again). I highly recommend this book, no matter if you consider yourself a “good girl” or not. {by the way, on the subject of grace, we are reading Proverbs together this month over at She Reads Truth. It’s not too late to join in!}
Sweet Corn Risotto by The Novice Chef! holy moly. This girl is so not novice. I had the pleasure of getting to know Jessica at the DOLE salad conference last month in Carmel, and she.is.hysterical. And wouldn’t ya know that I came straight home from the conference and immediately made her sweet corn risotto for myself? It was incredible.
This zucchini au gratin! I recreated one of Julia Child’s recipes for PBS Food’s #CookWithJulia celebration (her 100th birthday is on the 15th) with some slight modifications and the result was PERFECT. I don’t know how zucchini au gratin is supposed to taste, but this tasted just like macaroni and cheese.
Lowlights! I had my hair girl stick some lowlights in my hair this go around, and I really like the result. It’s not quite so bright-in-your-face-blonde anymore. I got the idea to do this after seeing Lauren’s hair and loving the light/dark contrast she has going on. I also got my hair cut for the first time since March!
Is it just me or has the Gap gotten waaaaaaaay cooler lately? I’ll admit, I never really shopped at Gap before but lately I am seeing so many cute things there! I bought a pair of their sexy boyfriend jeans and adore them. They fit just right and look really cute with both heels and flats. I’ve worn them practically every day since I bought them a few weeks ago. I don’t know what is happening over at Gap, but I am definitely a fan of it!
This journal I scored at Target! I needed a new recipe journal and I knew Target was the best place to go find one. I mean, really—how perfect is this for recipes?!
The new ELR logo! I probably should have waited to show you guys the logo + the new website all at once, but I just couldn’t wait any longer. So much for having patience.

August 12, 2012 at 5:15 pmI’m glad you mentioned the GAP…I bought clothes there about a week ago and it made me wonder if I was getting old and boring in my style choices. I much prefer to think their products has gotten better :).

August 13, 2012 at 11:13 amI’m just wondering – why not change the name of the blog while doing a new site? “run” is not a topic you cover anymore.
I LOVE your blog, I just think the name is misleading.
jenna
August 13, 2012 at 11:22 amUnfortunately it’s a bit too late for a name change…it’s been 5 years and I’ve worked to brand the name “Eat Live Run” (it’s on the cover of my book and it’s how companies know me). Thus, changing the name this late in the game wouldn’t be smartest business move for me to make.
Jenn
August 13, 2012 at 12:15 pmI’d love to know “how” you journal your recipes, as I love all things journaled and would love to keep better track of my own cooking…
