C is For Cookie

Everyone loves some cookies!!

Last night went pretty well for the most part (other than me spilling boiling sugar on my fingertips). I got decent grades for my deserts and one of the girls in my class actually asked me if I could make another cookie monster for her little son because he loves Sesame Street! I wish I would have thought out my s’mores better but they still tasted good and looked pretty.

That’s nougatine on top with spicy hot chocolate sauce (with cinnamon and cayenne) on the plate as well.

As usual, I thought we were going to done a lot earlier than we were. I didn’t leave school until midnight! I let myself sleep in a little bit this morning though to compensate but I’m in desperate need of coffee right now! 😉

But first…here’s the rest of yesterday’s food:

At work I was craving a banana with almond butter more than the snack I had brought (kiwi and almonds), so that’s what I had! Thank God for those delicious and convenient almond butter packs! I used half the pack on my banana and it was the perfect amount.

And then dinner last night! Sooo good! I was trying to get good and not eat massive amounts of the fried bread at the table (which was actually quite greasy and I didn’t like it anyways), so instead I started with a bowl of light, SPICY, tomato soup and then filled my plate with channa masala for protein, a little bit of paneer and some spinach dish that was quite tasty. I also had a small amount of rice—maybe 1/4th cup? I was proud of myself because I usually stuff myself to no end at the Indian restaurant and then I feel sick, full and bloated for the rest of the night. I left feeling full, but not stuffed last night and it felt a lot better!

And then last night at school I snacked on a string cheese and my leftover kiwi (sorry no picture). I also had some cherries and a few chocolate chips here and there…. 😉

This morning I woke up and had a quick breakfast of greek yogurt with agave and blueberries with almond butter toast and a banana.

I’m going to go grocery shopping right now, come home and go to the gym and then head over to Tampa later on. Ryan and I are going fishing tonight I think and tomorrow night…………(you all are about to laugh yourself silly)……..we are going to the SNOOP DOG AND 311 CONCERT! hahaha! Everyone keeps thinking I’m kidding when I tell them I’m going to see Snoop. 311 is Ryan’s favorite band in the entire world and they just happen to be coming tomorrow night with none other than Snoop himself. It will be interesting to say the least!

I’ll be back in a little bit for a workout and lunch report! 🙂 Oh—-and my legs feel like LEAD today. I have never been so sore. I think it was all those lunges. I seriously cannot even walk and last night my Chef asked me if I was okay because I was limping!!! What I did exactly yesterday, if you want to handicap yourself as well, is:

Do 15 walking lunges holding 10 pound weights. 4 sets. At the end of each set, do 15 standing lunges...so that’s basically 8 sets of lunges or approximately 120 lunges. It’ll get you.

Hi Jenna. Cute cookies! I also think the almond butter packet is great, where did you get it?

A question about push-ups… do you do yours “chaturanga style” with elsbows in and back, or with elbows more to the sides?

I would have eaten that s’more without complaint 😀

Jenna, have you ever used vanilla bean paste? I made some vanilla cupcakes with it and I am so amazed? It’s cheaper than vanilla bean and is kinda like a more syrupy vanilla extract, with vanilla bean specks in it. Found it at Williams Sonoma – I think it could be cool in a lot of recipes.

I would put up with a little snoop dog to see 311! They are such an amazing band! Of course I am a bit bias because several of the members are from my home town (it’s true, interesting things do come out of Nebraska once in a while).

Hope you have a blasty blast!

My friend dragged me to a Snoop Dog concert back in the day. He was almost 2 hours late! Everyone was quite angry. And we found out that he was ‘chillin’ in his hotel room. How incredibly rude.

    Hey Jenna and other runners,

Jenna, I know you’ve said that you want to start upping your running, so I wanted to recommend the yogadownloads.com yoga for runners on days you aren’t running. It’s a really great workout (always gets me sweaty!) and really strectches your hips and calves and all the other little muscles that get super sore when you run!

Jenna, where do you get those almond butter packs? I have never seen anything like that in my grocer or my health food store!

And I’m not laughing about Snoop or 311, back in the day, i was a huge fan of both. Rock and Rap on 🙂

    C,

I found them at Whole Foods! I think they are a pretty new product though and might not be available everywhere yet.

I’m really not a snoop OR 311 fan! I like some 311 songs but I’m really just going along for the ride. Actually, I volunteered TO be the ride tomorrow night because I don’t want to drink since I have a very important class starting on Monday….it’ll be interesting all right….

    😉
