Flying Coffee and Park Benches
Nov 9th, 2009 by jenna
Hey guys!
I hope everyone had a great Monday! This morning Kath and I were total food blogger geeks and had a massive coffee photoshoot in downtown Healdsburg. It was awesome

What can I say? Coffee makes me giggle and leap off benches.

We had a blast. I was so sad to see her off on her go….I need to plan a trip back to the east coast at some point!
Work was not nearly as fun as playing in the park. Almost, but not quite. I actually haven’t felt 100% all day….I think I just totally overloaded my system with glorious food over the weekend and I feel the need to detox or something. What I REALLY need to do is start juicing again…I have my juicer that I brought with me from Florida and I have all this amazing California produce. There’s no reason why not.
Anyways, lunch was a sandwich with hummus, laughing cow cheese, bread and butter pickles, avocado and spinach—

Carrots + a pear!

Green tea x 2

A crack pure protein bar for snack—

I got home around 5:30 and was STARVING (the icky feeling faded fast, apparently). Dinner was totally random but worked. All I did was roast 2 delicata squash and then mix the pieces into whole wheat couscous with tofu and mix the whole mess with thai red curry sauce.

That picture wasn’t the best….but I knew Kath would kill me if I used the flash……
My snackish-dessert tonight was a yogurt with a little bit of elite Hotel Healdsburg granola on top. Muhahaha

I was going to do more work tonight but honestly, I think I’m going to go soak in a really hot bubble bath right now instead and call it a night. Tomorrow I’m actually getting up early and going to a SPINNING class (can you even believe it?!) at my new gym.
Sweet dreams!

Have fun at Spinning! I’m going tomorrow too. I think your photos are looking great, can’t believe there is such a big difference between the 2 cameras but it’s true! Watch out for your ankle jumping off park benches
.
Love the picture of you jumping off the bench, very cute!
Jealous of your spinning adventure tomorrow, I just moved to spinning-less class Iowa:(
Healdsberg looks like the most adorable southern California town ever
. And the photos you and Kath took are so fun, I’m glad you two and others had such a wonderful weekend. Hopefully the bubble bath will have you in tip-top shape in no time!
I love that sweater!
Only a true friend will tell you not to use a flash. I know. I have good friends
SO PROUD OF YOU for not using the flash!!!
xoxoxo
Yes, it takes practice learning how to use the manual but it’s worth it and your photos are really looking great!
I used to spin years ago…my biggest fear was getting eaten alive by the peddles. One slip and ouch…do you use clip on shoes?
Have a great time!
OMG that sandwich looks delicious!! I will have to recreate that!
Oh have fun at spin class. That will detox ya…all that sweat pumping fun!
After a super foodie weekend, I always want to juice, too! Apple, kale and parsley is my signature drink.
I LOVE spin!!! Lead with your heels and keep your knees in!! Have fun!!
Oops heels!!
Yay for a spinning class! Have fun Jenna
Good luck with Spinning! That can be a serious but-kicking experience. That hummus sandwich sounds so filling! I’ve been sticking to basic hummus and chesse, but the addition of butter pickles and avacado….yummm.
Glad you and Kath had such a great time. Headlesburg looks so quaint and beautiful!
Oooo have fun at spinning this morning!!
what a fun city!!
what a fun little city!
So glad you had such a great time with Kath!
Have fun at spin!
I LOVE spin. Deliciously evil!
Ok that sandwich looks delicious, I love the bread and butter pickles with avocado…yum!
Healdsburg looks like such a cute place. I would love to visit someday. Have fun at the spin class!!
That dinner does look random!!!! But also very good.
Let us know how spinning goes!
Hooray for spinning! I love the classes at my gym – it’s a great workout and a good alternative to running. I try to focus on my upstrokes as much as my downstrokes – this helps strengthen all the leg muscles.
You two are so cute! Looks like you had a great time
Have fun at spin! That’s so awesome:)
Love the sweater you’re wearing Jenna – where’s it from? Sounds like you’ve had a fun but hectic couple of days, enjoy your bubble bath
Your pictures made me smile– It’s nice to see you out and about enjoying and living life to the fullest!
P.S. there’s nothing wrong with taking a night off from work. Self-care is important and crucial to incorporate in our daily lives!
Have a wonderful day, lovely lady!
Rebecca
enjoy your spin class! it’s always hard to get back into the groove after an injury!
you know you are a foodie when after a weekend of feasts, you can still be starving.
That hummus and veggie sandwich looks AWESOME. As does your park bench jumping
I love to see you so happy and settled Jenna – you’re such an inspiration!
Have a great spinning class! I’ve never done one before but I hear they are INTENSE!
When I overdo it, I want juice as well! Of course, I don’t have a juicer so I have to make do with some green odwalla or Naked brand juice. It’s pretty tasty but not as veggie-ful as I would like. The last time I overdid it (I had a cold and a guest in town so I ate really decadent dinners at restaurants for a week straight!), I found a place that actually does wheatgrass shots, so I had a wheatgrass shot and a carrot/beet juice. Yum! (Am I weird for thinking wheatgrass is delicious?) Unfortunately, this place is really far away from my house so I won’t be going there often. It did make me feel better though.
I agree with Kath, I think I need to move in with you . . . your neighbourhood looks so nice!
Doesn’t coffee make everyone jump off of benches in joy? Your sandwich combo sounds just great. I bet it was creamy and delicious.
Go you for not using the flash! I think the photos are lovely and the food looks fabulous. It looks like you and Kath had a great time around Heraldsberg – it looks like such a pretty area
SO jealous! I was in Healdsburg in October (Columbus Day long weekend) and am absolutely in love and MUST MUST MUST go back. Seeing these pics, and the Flying Goat bring me back…can I work for you? I’m in PR, I could totally just be the publicity chick!!
Pretty please?!
I’ve never been to spin… I guess I always feel intimidated by it, but everyone has to start somewhere so I don’t know why I am!
Looks like you guys had a great morning– I’m so glad that you seem to be enjoying CA so much!
Your sandwhich looks super yummy! It was an interesting combo but I could see how it would work.
Spin is awesome but totally kills the cooch. (Sorry, but it had to be said.) Your squash mix looks killer and I love the black and white sweater. I’m a sucker for horizontal stripes.
I tried spinning once..it kinda hurt! I oughta give it another shot though
Have fun! I’ve noticed your hair is getting longer- are you trying to grow it out? I am!
Have fun at spin class! I’ve always thought of taking on a class like that for motivation
I just love Healdsburg. I haven’t been since August, and I can’t wait to go back…
Your dinner looks delicious!!I love squash( all varieties):-) cc
I’ve been considering getting a juicer, but I’m afraid I won’t like any of my concoctions and it will be a waste of money.
Maybe for Christmas.
haha I love the jumping pics! And dang that sandwich sounds so good! Laughing cow, hummus, avocado??! Magical combination.
That bench montage is too cute! Also, your new cam takes some amazing pics! It even captured the steam from your tea!
that sandwich looks great.

Sometimes nothing is better than a big bowl of veggies and rice, you know? I think that’s why I like those Amy’s bowls so much! Although, making your own from scratch is always the best!
