Hi guys!
Well my last day in Charleston was great—it definitely summed up a lovely getaway, which was much needed on my part. Today we headed out to Folly Beach, one of the more popular beaches in Charleston to soak up some rays.
We didn’t end up getting out to the beach until around 12:30 because of traffic, so of course we were all almost gnawing on our arms in hunger! I led the girls to one of my favorite beachy spots—The Lost Dog Cafe!
I LOVE this little cafe. Its definitely off the beaten path and is totally cute and very affordable.
I love how they serve water in mason jars! π
And I ordered what was probably the best salad I’ve eaten in AGES. It was the Spinach Strawberry Salad with Grilled Shrimp (dressing on the side) and was full of walnuts, red onion, feta and plump juicy strawberries. I ate every last leaf!
It was like a high school reunion! I loved it π
Next, we hit up the beach. SO relaxing. The sun felt amazing and don’t worry, I slathered myself with sunscreen.…especially my new tattoo! I can’t believe that when we were in high school we lived for the sun and only used SPF 4 with bronzer. Ahhhhh! Well you live you learn I guess!
Enough said. Obviously.
It felt so good!
When we got home we immediately set forth for FreshBerry for some more delish froyo! I got a small tart yogurt with chocolate chips, blackberries and raspberries.
We are all getting ready right now and then at 6:30 we are meeting Lara, one of my good friends from college that still lives in Charleston, for a glass of wine. I haven’t seen Lara since her and her boyfriend, Brian, came and stayed with me in Paris while they were backpacking across Europe two years ago! We have a LOT to catch up on. Lara is an AMAZING artist here in Charleston; click on her link to see her gallery!
Here we are at a Parisian farmer’s market back in 07!
I’m still carrying the same purse! Love me some Orla Kiely π
After wine we are going across the street to dinner here. I can’t wait. This place is super Southern and was featured on the Food Network!
See you in a bit!

May 30, 2009 at 3:36 pmBy the way, I’ve been meaning to tell you– I don’t know if anyone has ever told you this, but you kind of look like Lauren Conrad from Laguna Beach/The Hills. This is a good thing! Because she’s pretty and so are you chica! π Have fun!!

I wanted to pass on some links I thought you might like

May 30, 2009 at 7:35 pmI love the water in the mason jar. At a burger joint in my city, they serve giant milk shakes in huge glass measuring cups. Stuff like that is always cool, I think!
That bag is awesome – I’d definitely keep using it. π

I wish I could but I have NO idea!!!! Christie did this for me; I have no clue as to how to french braid. I’ve always wished I could french braid my own hair but I’ve never been able to. π
Katherine,
