Also, apparently when my mom was pregnant with me, she craved coke and milk… mixed together. I had always thought that combo would have been out of this world nasty. Until I tried it for the first time last month. And it was delicious.

July 16, 2010 at 8:54 amIn middle school, we had a sandwich bar in the cafeteria and I prided myself on created disgusting combinations and eating them to gross out my friends (which I have not lived down, 15 years later). It all started because since I was a kid, I have enjoyed peanut butter and sliced cheese sandwiches [not melted] – which other people found gross. Pringles dipped in apple sauce also is nice salty-sweet combo.

July 16, 2010 at 8:54 amHere’s a combination that I personally don’t think is weird at all, but every time I eat it, my friends think I’m nuts! My mom makes it all the time, too. Macaroni with lots of butter and cottage cheese, seasoned with salt and pepper. The end. It’s delicious, and healthy if you use a small amoutn of butter or sub olive oil. Mmm.

July 16, 2010 at 9:00 amWhen I was a kid, we used to go to this restaurant that had a salad bar, and my favourite thing to do with it was to stuff pineapple tidbits into black olives, and then dip them into bacon bits. My parents thought I was nuts. 😀
Emily
July 16, 2010 at 9:00 amOoo…I’ve got a couple for this one!
Velveeta cheese with salsa, noodles and vegetables (dinner).
Or on those days you are out camping and need a doughnut, but don’t have one…make a grilled cheese sandwhich but instead of cheese, use frosting. It tastes just like a doughnut.
Or for breakfast, grab a tortilla, slather it with peanut butter, throw on some cinnamon sugar, and warm it up like a quesadilla before dipping it in nutella.
Hmmm…sounds like I have a bit of a sweet tooth!
Jen
July 16, 2010 at 9:01 amI’ve just started putting sweet potatoes in everything lately…especially mexican themed dishes. Cook a sweet potato, cut down the middle, and fill like it’s a taco? Awesome. Sweet potato quesadillas? Freaking amazing. Sweet potato pasta salad? Heavenly. So weird, I know. 😛
Kimberly
July 16, 2010 at 9:02 amAs a kid I used to eat cheese puffs dipped in chocolate pudding. Doesn’t sound too good anymore 😉 I made a HUGE mistake in my adults years though – ever seen the movie Chocolat? Well, in the big dinner scene towards the end of the movie they were pouring what looked like chocolate sauce on everything! Fish, chicken, you name it – it was covered in something chocolaty and delicious looking. So I gave it a whirl one day – melted hershey’s bar over my grilled chicken. Umm, it was pretty darn gross!! lol

July 16, 2010 at 9:06 amWhen I was young, I used to make mini marshmallow and cheddar cheese skewers. I thought it was the greatest thing! I still think the combination is tasty, but it’s more of a special treat every once and a while, as it isn’t the healthiest combination. 😉

July 16, 2010 at 9:07 amI don’t think this is that weird, but all my friends do. Pineapple and Spinach pizza. SO. GOOD. It’s the food of the gods actually. I also love popcorn and homemade chocolate icing! Put a little icing on your finger, add a kernel on top, and lick away. <—-that was inappropriate.

July 16, 2010 at 9:10 amRecently I had artichokes, turkey deli meat, some spinach straight out of the bag, and a chunk of angel food cake for dinner… all eaten while standing at the kitchen counter cause it seemed like too much effort to get a plate and have an actual meal. Not your weirdest combo, necessarily, but it wasn’t my greatest venture.

July 16, 2010 at 10:18 amWhen I was a kid I used to LOVE putting cheetos in my PB&J sandwiches. Now I eat things that my family/friends think are weird, but anyone in the blog community would probably find perfectly normal.
The strangest combo I probably eat now is carrots dipped in peanut butter — seems so tame compared to some of these other combos!!

July 16, 2010 at 11:18 amI don’t really think this is all that wacky, but others tell me it is… I wont eat a grilled cheese without tomato on it. July 16, 2010 at 6:56 pmOk, so I LOVE this combo and I know it sounds disgusting, but whatever… it’s the internet, so I’m throwing it out there. 🙂 Frozen mixed veggies (the old school combo, peas, corn, square carrots and lima beans) in the micro until hot. Then mix in a teaspoon of mayo. And enjoy.

July 16, 2010 at 7:07 pmso i’m not sure if i have any weird food combos. so i asked my husband and he said kale & spaghetti noodles. it’s true… i like that… but it doesn’t seem weird to me. 🙂 but he’s a meat & potatoes kinda man so maybe that explains it!

July 16, 2010 at 7:50 pmThis is really gross. ChexMix Original and chocolate. Or even a gross one. I’m embarrassed to actually tell anyone this. I like to chew up my Nacho Doritos into a paste and then put it on a new chip like it is dip. Never using a bowl or anything like that. its just chew plop on new chip, eat. I know its gross. Maybe the embarrassment will win me something for once.
Erica
July 16, 2010 at 7:50 pmSpinach and peanut butter sandwiches! I swear, they’re the best. Especially when you add a few raisins in there!

July 16, 2010 at 9:58 pmMy kids love Juicy Roni’s. Elbow macaroni cooked in tomato juice with mozzerella cheese melted in it. The “traditional family recipe” calls for velvetta cheese, but I can’t bring myself to use that so I use mozzerella instead.
