Behind The Butter

happy thanksgiving

This year, I am especially thankful for my faith that keeps me grounded, my family and friends and the love that they bring, my fridge that’s pretty much always full, the ocean, the mountains, cozy sleeping bags, good belly laughs, acorns, yoga, the fact that my iphone actually survived a bubble bath, my warm bed, Dexter’s paws, a beautiful place to call home, the great people that work at the Apple store, having a job I love, all of YOU (!), California sunsets, my newfound love for photography, fresh figs from the farmer’s market, a wonderful library around the corner, dating my best friend, my fuzzy leopard slippers, dungeness crab season, the fact that my job involves baking cookies and taking photos of them, cookies in general, long hikes, the fact that I’ll be in Charleston for New Years, the fact that my mom and dad are only a phone call away, lunges that make my jeans fit again, the entire five thousand people that had a warm meal yesterday, the passion to serve others, blog-friends turned into best friends, the fact that crumbs never count, heavy whipping cream and….nutella.

always nutella.

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!

Dating my best friend made my eyes start to tear.

What a lovely message to give thanks ,from small things to the things that make your life fuller.

I am thankful for having enough food to eat and living a good life in Canada(although on a low income),especially when I see the latest news on the continuing tragedies in Haiti. I am thankful I will choose to donate to a cause such as this rather than exchanging gifts with every singlke family member.

I am happy for the joy and excitement my little nieces and nephews exude at the first snowfall .I am thankful I have the chance today to really live life as one never knows when our last day is here.

Blessings to you all. I am not a religious person but consider myself spiritual and I am thankful for whatever another believes in that gives them hope, whether
a god/goddess, karma, fairies, or just themselves 🙂

Thank you for being the beautiful, talented, courageous & inspiring human being you are. For creating the ELR community. All the gorgeous photos, recipes, book recs, laughs…for sharing your darling family–Dexter included~and Adam….what a charming guy. As someone I know used to say as high praise~you’re a ‘girl with all the trimmings.’ So glad those still include the IPhone 😉

Fantastic post! Great to see many of the things you are so thankful for…big and small. There are so many things in life that we are blessed with. For me, the list goes on and on, but today, on this Thanksgiving Day, I am especially thankful for the Farmer that works through out the year to provide us all with the food we eat.
    Happy Thanksgiving:)

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Jenna. Thanks for sharing your life and all your recipes with us, you are quite lucky that your Mom instilled the love of cooking and baking when you were quite young. I have quite a collection which I will pass onto my daughter from you. Thank you.. Btw, the cranberry-orange bread was o-delicious.
