After a lovely 13 hour day of traveling, California welcomed me home!
We finally lifted off from Dallas…only an hour late!
Don’t yell at me, but I enjoyed my favorite carbonated beverage up in the air
I LOVE me some diet dr.pepper. Artificial sweeteners and all…its just so good once it hits your lips. I figure one every once in awhile won’t kill me. I also ate a balance bar…but it escaped my iphone camera lens (real camera is smooshed up in my carry-on bag and it took me a reallyyyy long time to zip up the zipper on that so I was scared to open it and dig out said camera…somehow no matter what I always come home with way more stuff than I left with..hmmmm)
My flight finally arrived at 4:30 and Beth was there waiting for me! Such a great friend, no?!
I was STARVING since it felt like almost 8:00 and we grabbed a quick bite at this amazing hole in the wall Thai restaurant near her house. The picture quality here isn’t the best because I still couldn’t reach my Canon at the bottom of my suitcase and used my iphone.
Anyways, I ordered the thai green curry with tofu and brown rice and it was faaaabulous!!!!

I love your cloud shot from the plane – it looks very neat.
I’ve never really had a lot of curries in my life, but I’ve been trying to venture out a bit more. I love some spicy food!

Welcome back!!! I was in the Dallas airport yesterday too– we might have crossed paths!!
Mmmm…I LOVE me some Thai green curry. Delicious!
LOVE Thai food. Just started eating it recently and haven’t gotten into curry yet but want to. Also, my downfall is Diet Coke! So bad for you. Planning on giving it up for Lent then for GOOD, but like everyone else said, every now and then isn’t bad.
Welcome back to the sunshine state!
Diet soda in general is a guilty pleasure of mine. I think every once in a while is fine. Don’t apologize for that!! Glad you made it back safely, though I can guess how bittersweet it was to leave Florida. Praying for you, that God will fill you with his peace and that your family have an easy move!
Glad you made it home safe! Your thai dish looks yummy! I wanted to ask you – any chance you could provide the recipe for the buffalo shrimp that your mom made? I totally understand if it’s going in your book, but I thought I would check! I’ve seen it on your blog before, and I really want to make it!
Glad to hear that you made it home safe – and that you got some well deserved rest
Oh man, that’s my fav carbonated drink/soda too!!! I rarely have it but it’s delish, ain’t no shame in enjoying a diet soda!

Thai curry is pretty much my favorite thing ever. Maybe I should go get some this week.
diet drP is my secret crack. LOVE IT. its like my once/week treat. man alive, so good
I love that you already feel like California is your home. Looks like taking that big leap of moving was a good decision =)
I’m with you on the diet soda. Although, I have trouble limiting it to every once in a while :/ I’m either all or nothing when it comes to that stuff. I’ve been trying to find healthy alternatives, though, like brewing homemade iced tea. So far it’s done the trick! Much more refreshing too.
Yum! Thai curry is delicious! I would skip the rice and just eat the whole bowl!
(if it wasnt too spicy)
Your Thai curry looks delish!

I’m glad you can eat curry again! Brown rice and creamy curry are wonderful and healthy. Love it
YOU HAD ONE 12 OZ. ARTIFICIALLY SWEETENED CARBONATED SOFT DRINK (a.k.a. the dreaded ‘CSDs’ that have a direct link between consumption and death….)?
I used to read your blog, but now I’m just appalled and extremely alienated. How could a healthy cute young girl “with a healthy mission” such as yourself so eagerly and intentionally ruin the lives of so many regularly exercising young women (mouse fingers, at least) who steadfastly await your unquestionable nutritional guidance with baited breath? What!? You also got a free bike to champion a cause that will raise more social and monetary capital for a specific charitable purpose that would not normally otherwise have the benefit of your help…? Just REPULSIVE. Didn’t you know that since you were ordained with a large following on your semi-casual food blog that you are inexcusably exhorted with the pooled weight of your reader’s individually-relative moral compasses to carry out irreproachable acts of self-flagellating sacrifice in the name of Eat, Live, Run’s collective conscience? Don’t you realize that life is a strict dichotomy of “cool, hip, and good” or “unstylish, sellout, Bisphenol A laced, and disgrace” and that by selfishly using your blog as your own ‘creative’ platform to post ‘gray area’ topics (which will inevitably be rejected by our binary sense of reason anyway…) you are plainly declaring war on your ‘ethnocentric’ and otherwise-all-accepting readership?
WELCOME BACK JENNA!!
Ha. This wasn’t meant for anyone in particular on this post. But the some of you who are servin’ up the harsh browns on some of the other posts need to ease up on the Jenna, ai’ght? She shouldn’t have to post with fear of being persecuted every time she has a minor deviation from the impossible code of ethics that has been self-adopted by a small percentage of her readership.
Whew. Can anyone say verbosity?
