Behind The Butter

I’m Alive!

Hey guys!

Sorry for being so MIA….there was a point yesterday when we thought the blog might crash again so I sort of delayed posting until everything had been figured out on the server front. No worries though, everything is good and the blog shall survive!!!

Yesterday I did the quickest workout ever combining upper body strength + jumping jacks + jump rope. When I say quick, I mean quick…it was probably only 15-20 minutes but my arms are actually sore today from it so I guess I did something productive! I’m just frustrated because I still can’t put on my sneakers so that sort of rules out cardio…tomorrow I’m supposed to run 8 miles but I’m pushing it back until Sunday morning in hopes that my heel will be mended by then.

Around 6:00 yesterday, Kayla came over and us three girls had more homemade sangria and girl talk! It was awesome to catch up with Kayla….I still can’t believe she is married now….seems like just yesterday we were 14 years old and racing around the middle school hallway or chatting at high school graduation about which one of us would be married first, have kids first, move the furthest away…typical high school girl stuff. I think I got voted to be married first. Hahahahaha 😉

IMG_3129

The festivities really started when Ryan and Andy (our friends from high school and cupcake co-workers) came over for cocktails. We had a blast catching up and laughing about anything and everything. I come from a very VERY small and close high school graduating class in a small, small town and when we get together, its like nothing has changed at all.

IMG_3133IMG_3134

IMG_3131

We had a late dinner at a local hang out. I had waaaay too much of the calamari and fried zucchini…..

IMG_3135

IMG_3136

A house salad with honey mustard dressing on the side:

IMG_3137

And grilled salmon with a sweet potato for my dinner (this is like my perfect meal!)

IMG_3138

Regretfully, I didn’t touch my broccoli. I was not in “healthy jenna food blogger” mode last night, apparently!! 😉

We hit up really the only bar in Vero after dinner and, naturally, tore up the dance floor. I requested Journey and the rest was history. Good times, good times.

IMG_3139

IMG_3142

It was humorous actually because we were the ONLY ones on the dance floor. That’s how I roll, clearly.

Got home around 12:30…..woke up at 6 am STARVING so I made an egg and cheese muffin!

IMG_3148

And then promptly fell back to sleep for three more hours. Glorious.

Around 10:00, Christie and I were in cognito mode at Cravings, a little beachy bakery. Major coffee action!

IMG_3150

And my favorite thing ever: a hot honey sandwich!

IMG_3151

No trip home is complete without a hot honey sandwich. This could be the finest sandwich ever created…..ham, spicy honey mustard, tomato and melty cheese on a hot panini. Sometimes, I dream about this sandwich. Not gonna lie 😉

So, I was going to drive home today but Christie has convinced to me to stay yet another day. I’m easily convinced, clearly. I have a little bit of a headache (my own fault!) and don’t really feel like driving three hours. So another day it is! Tomorrow morning I will be going home for real though….I must!

Hope everyone is having a lovely Friday–I’ll catch you in a bit!

It sounds like you are having a well-needed amount R&R – it must be so tempting to just stay and stay! Holler for rocking out on the dancefloor solo – I have definitely been known to commit that rockstar move myself! Ha ha ha.

I love those nights out with friends where you could just sit around (or dance!) all night, enjoying some beverages and good food, like you see each other all the time. Unfortunately (well not really since I love them to pieces), most of my friends either have kids and are settling down or we’re all over the globe, so it’s tough to find those times. So thankful for email, Skype and FB! 🙂

It’s good for the soul to have a fun night out!
