Not In Florida Anymore…

December 7, 2009

Hellooo!

All day long I’ve told myself I’m going to be productive but it really hasn’t happened….yet. I have managed to work out, pay my bills, eat and write emails. But yeah. I was hoping for a little more. It might be a long night and early morning!

Here’s what I did at the gym!

5 minutes on the elliptical to warm up

3 sets of chest press with dumbbells, 15 lbs, 12 reps each set

3 sets of tricep extensions, 15 lbs, 12 reps each set

3 sets of “21′s” with 20 lb EZbar

3 sets of shoulder press, 10 lbs, 12 reps each set

2 sets of lat raises, 5 lbs, 15 reps each set

3 sets of laying down tricep extensions with 20 lb EZbar

3 sets of lat pulldowns, 55 lbs, 12 reps each set

= 25 minute workout

My mind was wandering though the whole time and I didn’t break a sweat so I’m guessing I really didn’t work out that hard even though it looks like I did a lot. I tried to sign up for spinning class tomorrow but it was already full! bah!

Anyways, I ate this pear after the gym—

And then met a friend for lunch at a really random, yet super cool find, Chloe’s Cafe in Santa Rosa! It was really good and interesting because it was actually in a hospital center. I would never have found this on my own!

I had a cup of butternut squash bisque and half of the Mediterranean sandwich with feta, artichokes and black olives—

It was good but very messy. I ate all the soup and probably half of the sandwich…before it all fell apart.

Snack was an apple with some raw goat cheddar + 2 pieces of freshly roasted kabocha squash (I’m obsessed):

And then dinner was the Indian lentil soup made by the San Francisco Soup Co (found it at my local grocery store) and MORE squash….I might be turning orange soon but don’t worry about that…..

The soup was just okay. Not my favorite and I wouldn’t buy it again. I like lentil soup but I think I like split pea soup SO much better because it’s so much richer and thicker. Tonight is apparently the coldest night of the year with record lows so I thought soup would be appropriate…as would a fireplace if I had one. I guess I’ll have to settle for sitting next to the heater with Dexter since its his favorite spot in the house. :)

Speaking of the coldest night of the year, I’m probably the only maniac out there that actually went to get frozen yogurt. Buuuuut it was totally necessary.

This would be reeses yogurt with butterfinger and chocolate chips. I’ve eaten a lot of orange things today!! ;)

So, ahem, ahem….

TOMORROW I am going to Chez Panisse!!!!!! I may or may not have emotionally/impulsively bought a new dress at Anthropologie yesterday (oopsies) but I think it’s going to be too cold to wear it now…..darn. I keep forgetting that I’m not in Florida anymore. I’m totally excited though but bummed because apparently Alice is going to be out of town. Oh well, I guess that just means I’ll have to back!

After filling my belly with frozen yogurt I now need to thaw out with a hot shower and tea. And then WRITE!!

Put some tights and/or boots on, grab a sweater, and rock your new dress!! Have fun at Chez Panisse! Can’t wait for the recap.

HAHA! That’s so funny! I was totally craving frozen yogurt last night too despite the freezing temps! I ALLLLMOST went out and got it but I chickened out at the last minute :) Yours looks so delicious though that I might feel motivated to go tonight :)

Chloe’s Cafe looks AH-MAZING. I really wish I had one near me!

I am so jealous…I can’t wait to hear about your Chez Panisse experience. I’ve already told the husband that we NEED to go there (and French Laundry and a few other west coast places) soon!

I’m not sure what makes butterfingers so good but now I’m craving one!

Frozen yogurt is a necessity any time of the year!

I feel you on the cold! It’s snowing here…sort of, with ice too. nothing seems better than taking hot shower, drinking tea and writing right now. You’re living the dream!

I did the same thing last night a made myself a bowl of coconut ice cream with ginger spread mixed in and it’s soooo cold here
(-10)! It didn’t warm me up but it sure tasted great!

Have a wonderful time tonight! Can’t wait to hear all about it! I too would wear the dress anyway! You are going out to celebrate my birthday!!! Make it a fun one!

My husband had a small bowl of ice cream every night! The weather doesn’t matter!

Have fun tonight! It will give you more to write about!

I eat ice cream year round… and I live in Chicago, so it’s cold a lot! People think I’m crazy, but whatever… a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do!

Oh gosh, as much as I love winter clothes, when it’s 30 or below it’s hard when you can’t wear your normal clothes!! It’s all about warmth, not cuteness. I’m sure you will look great though! I am really excited for you! :)

While everyone else was excited about Chez Panisse (which also sounds fabulous), I have to confess that the roasted kabocha looked so tasty, I was inspired to buy some at the farm stand today! I’m excited to try some roasted slices of it tonight — thanks so much for the idea!
