Pedal Pusher

Mornin’!
I cannot seem to wake up this morning…I don’t know why I feel so TIRED! I slept for 8 hours and have had a strong cup of green tea but still….maybe it’s the fog.
I was starving when I got up at 6:45 and made a large pancake for breakfast to fuel me for my first bike ride!
This is a pancake made from Kodiak Mix (1/3 c mix) topped with barney butter, whatever was left in the greek yogurt container, a banana and raspberry syrup. Mmmmmm perfect fuel
Phillip isn’t coming till 9 but I’m going to practice NOW getting on and off the bike and clipping in and out of the pedals so I don’t make a fool of myself and fall on my face. Excited to switch over and use the cycling feature on my Garmin!
If I don’t come back you may have to come out and find me!!

i am terrified of those clippy shoe things. i fare thee well!
Have fun and be careful! Those clip-ins can be challenging!
Don’t deny your awesomeness quote from Frayed Laces!)………..have a great ride!
The shoes will feel like you’ve worn them your whole life in no time at all. Just don’t be one of those people that wait until the last moment to unclip! The power and ease of biking with them will beat your nervousness in no time. Good luck!
Do you plan to do any type of fundraising? It’s a lot to ask people to just donate $20 or more… Maybe you can get SuperFood (or another company you don’t work for) to donate some products. Then the people who do donate can be entered into a raffle.
Have fun and ENJOY it! You will get used to the clips in NO time!
Um YUM!
That raspberry syrup looks absurdly good!
Good luck girl! Yummy raspberry syrup!!
raspberry syrup looks to-die-for, especially on pancakes! good luck with your bike ride! sounds like it’ll be a lot of fun — too bad we just got snow today and I can’t run/ride outside!
Those biking shoes have always freaked me out. Good luck girl! I am sure you will do awesome.
Good luck, I can’t wait to hear all about it!
Sounds like maybe some coffee is in order?
Good luck, Jenna! Can’t wait to hear all about it!
Have a great bike ride!!
I was nervous the first time I got clip in shoes too! Just remember, push your heel out to the right or left (depending on the foot) and they’ll pop out easily. Don’t try to lift your heel up. Have fun!
Have a great bike ride! I am loving the raspberry syrup!!
hope you have a great ride!
I wish they sold that pancake mix here – they always look so good
Have fun!!
I didn’t even know Garmins had a bike feature. Now i really want one. Have fun!
YAY! that is exciting to switch the Garmin over! I love that the Garmin had both running and bike features. Sigh, Garmin, I love you! Breakfast looks great! Have fun!
I hope you have a fab first ride!
Yes, maybe you should be riding yourself to the coffee stand
Good luck and have fun!
Have fun on your ride. I can’t wait to hear all about it – your bike is so lovely!
Have a great ride! I’m so excited to hear about it… cycleing has always intrigued me.
Hooray for filling breakfasts! And biking adventures! Unfortunately it’s snowing in NYC today, so my biking will have to be of the indoor variety…
good luck! im sure you will have an amazing ride!
At first glance thought that was hot sauce on the pancake. lol
On my first ride with clips I took a big spill in front of the Midway in San Diego. Yeah…lots of people all around. I survived and now I don’t worry about it. You’ll get the hang of it!! Oh, and I totally recommend getting a bike rack. I use mine all the time.
Enjoy your ride! Looks like a great, fuel-filled brekkie.
Mmm I suddenly really crave a good pancake. Perhaps for dinner?
Good luck on your ride, and as always the Kodiak pancake looks delicious…that raspberry syrup sounds so good.
yoga AND cycling?! Fuel up girl it’s gonna be a busy busy day! I wanna eat your pancake through my computer!
Something about this morning, I couldn’t get out of bed either. I think it was the snowy morning we had in NYC
I fell off my bike the first few times when I was learning to use the clip-less pedals. You will get it down in no time and then you will wonder how you ever rode a bike without them! Have fun and be careful!!
Good luck with the bike ride!
Your pancakes always look so so so good. I wish they sold that mix in stores.
I have yet to fall off my bike! I hope you were successful, I know that it kind of catches up to you one day, so I’m bound to hit the pavement, but I’m hoping not this year!
Have a good ride! You’ll get the hang of the pedals in no time.
Have a good ride! You’ll get the hang of the pedals in no time.
Wow that pancake looks incredible! The raspberry syrup looks delish on top.
Good luck today! Can’t wait to here about it! Hope all goes well
Oh gosh Jenna, good luck!!! I hope your ride right now is going well. I’m really interested to hear how it went and how it was getting used to this new style of riding! Gosh, I need a bike..
MM breakfast looks amazing! Good luck on the bike
good luck jenna! Have fun…can’t wait to hear about it. I also finally tried the Kodiak mix! I wasn’t successful with Waffles but I’m going to try that again. I made one big (1/2 cup) blueberry pancake. It was amazing and kept me full!
I was the same way this morning! That pancake looks fab, hope the ride went well!
Good luck! As usual your pancake looks incredible!
Great breaky!
Good luck today- can’t wait to hear about it!
Jenna
have fun Jenna!!! that’s so great you got such a nice bike!
Hope you had a great ride!
Good luck on your bike ride! That pancake looks awesome. The sun is finally shining over here in the valley, hope you enjoy some sun today as well.
Have fun! What a beautiful place you have to ride in!
Those clipping shoes are scary to me!! I am not a bike rider. Pancakes look great!
Raspberry syrup? MMM… I bet this version is a little better than those flavored syrups I remember from Perkins! Have fun on the bike
I just drooled at the thought of eating such a pancake. That’s attractive. Hope your bike ride was terrific! I’m such a klutz that I don’t have the guts to try the fancy-schmancy pedals- although I want to. The fear seems to be outweighing the desire for now. Let us know how it went!
Until I read about it here and on Caitlin’s blog (HTP), I didn’t know one could clip thier shoes into thier bike.
Sounds scary. I would most likely injure myself. I mean BADLY injure myself. Someone-call-a-ambulance injure myself.
Well that’s embarrassing. thier = their
Good Luck Jenna! I would get the bike rack as well! You will find some places you want to ride that aren’t close to home! And you will learn to love those pants! I went on a bike ride without them and have bruises on my butt! And it was a short ride! And those clip shoes scare me to death!
And boy does that pancake look great! I think I just may have to go online and buy some!
I just got back from a trip to Whole Foods! I always think of you when I go there! I bought a loaf of the millet bread! I forgot a few of the things I was planning on getting….I guess I will have to go again next week!
That pancake looks wonderful! I think I’m going to have to try that! I’ve never had Barney Butter before, what exactly is that?
Good luck on your ride!
With such a gorgeous tasty breakfast there’s no way your bike ride will be anything but amazing! Have fun.
Hey Jenna!
Just curious…I know in the past you have said that you always use a 1/2 cup measurement of pancake mix…which is exactly how much I always use. Is 1/3 a better measurement when making pancakes for one person? Thanks for your advice
Fancy,
Well Kath tells me that 40 grams (the serving size) is actually 1/4th cup mix. Hah!! So I decided to see if I noticed a difference between 1/2 and 1/3 and I don’t…so now I just use 1/3rd.
lol. You’re so funny. It’s a very California thing to do to learn to be a hardcore biker. I’m excited for you.
Jenna your pictures never fail to get me drooling. I see pancakes in my near future =D
I love the pancake…sooooo gorgeous!
