The Dynamic Duo
Jun 23rd, 2009 by jenna
Good morning, friends!!
The e-cookbook sales just keep going and going….I love it!! I just keep thinking of all the further research that is now possible because of the money and I feel very happy inside. Ryan, too, feels very strongly about kicking cancer’s butt and he is one of the founders of 1 Voice Foundation, a foundation to help kids with cancer here in Tampa. Together, when our forces combine, we make the ultimate cancer fighting duo.
This morning I had more of a grey-ish monster:
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 spoonful raw almond butter
- 3 dinosaur kale leaves
- 1 scoop original Amazing Meal
- 1/2 scoop Amazing Grass wheatgrass
I’ve gotten a few emails regarding the 40% discount so here are the facts one more time. Until Thursday night at midnight if you order a 2lb bulk container or any flavor of Amazing Meal (Amazing Meal only…not SuperFood or Wheatgrass), you will get 40% off your order as well as a free shaker. The code to punch in at check out is EatLiveRun40%AM. Usually, the 2lb bulk container is $70 and with this discount it is only $41.
Also, I’ve received emails questioning what my favorite flavor of the Amazing Meal is. Personally, I’m a chocolate gal so I like that. Its sweeter than the original and when you mix it with almond milk it tastes just like chocolate milk (well sort of)! The original though can be mixed with a variety of more ingredients since its so generic. And, its less sweet.
I also tried out my new tea this morning!

That tea looks great! I’m going to have to look for it.
hey jenna, i was just wondering what the difference is between regular almond butter and raw almond butter. i have some almond butter i bought at costco, but it is made from roasted almonds. is raw butter healthier? thanks!
Ingrid,
Raw almond butter is made from raw almonds and regular is made from roasted. There’s always a debate about which one is healthier but in my mind, they are pretty much both comparable so it just depends on what taste you like better! I like both!
Wow, you guys certainly are a dynamic couple! I think your healthy lifestyle and the example you set for others is also a huge win in the battle against cancer!
I love yogi teas – especially the detox variety! It has a great spicy taste. And I realllyyyy need to snag some Amazing Meal before the promo ends – I’ve seen it at Whole Foods, but no discount there!
The tea looks great. I’ve never tried Yogi but I’ll have to pick some up! Especially now that I’ve stopped drinking coffee.
I just want to thank you for all you, and Ryan!, do for the fight to end cancer. My aunt has been battling breast cancer for at least 10 years…and we just found out last week that she has multiple brain tumors. So it means a lot to me to see people out there trying to fight it!
ooo that tea looks nice! I’m always on the look out for new ones
Congratz on the sucess with your e-cookbook!
I love that you add almond butter to your green/greyish monsters! delicious
Jenna,
I was wondering about how you gave up coffee. I really want to give it up since I can’t seem to get going in the morning without it, I feel like I have become Dependant on it and don’t want that! Did you just switch to tea and never go back or did you gradually cut it out? Thanks for any advice!
those tea ingredients look amazing! i am so jealous of your stocked tea box.
Congrats on the cook book success! That’s wonderful
Way to go on the e-cookbook! That’s awesome!
I’m so proud of you and all that fundraising!! Way to go!!
I’m gonna have to try that tea, it looks awesome
Ya’ll are the dynamic duo and that is so amazing! You are truly living your life out for others and not just you.
I’ve definitely devoured a box of your new tea in less than a week before. What can I say? I like my green tea! Do you have a favorite flavor/combo/brand of green tea (or any tea, really) that’s your go-to tea?
I love the Active Body Green Tea also. So good!
That tea sounds great! I’m trying to use up what I have at home, then I can try some new ones
Nice. I’ve never seen that brand of tea. I love green tea. Always looking for a new kind to try. Did you have to order it online?
Yay for Yogi tea!!! I had a similar choc. shake this morning. I like adding dark choc. coco powder and dark choc. stevia to my shakes. It makes them just like dessert even with the greens thrown in

Great to hear that you and Ryan are so involved in beating cancer
. I love green monsters, but I don’t know if I can handle them with kale, since it has such a strong taste.
Great job, you two!
I’m loving the green monster with spinach… but I’m still too scared to try it with kale. Baby steps.
Have a great day!!!
I’ll have to try out that yogi green tea – I’ve seen it in stores and it sounds great.
Good looking tea! I love tea but I am always too lazy to make it!
Haha Grey-Monster?? Funny how all those ingredients can make a smoothie have the ugliest color!
I love this tea! I just bought some a couple weeks ago.
I’ve been skeptical of the green monsters, but if it tastes like chocolate I may need to give it a shot finally!
Delicious way to start out the day Jenna! And good luck on those sales!
Yogi tea is my afternoon boost. I love the little sayings on the tea bags, even when they’re cheesy.
I recently became a fan of regular old green tea, the decaf version. I swear, it just makes me feel better and more energized! I was afraid of the taste, but it’s great! I’d like to try this new version . . . does it come in decaf?
I think I would like the chocolate flavor best too! I haven’t tried any of them yet though…
Tammy,
Nope, this kind does NOT come in decaf. It does taste very delicious though!
Mrs. Myers,
Nope–I found this at Whole Foods
Becca,
Honestly, my go to tea is peppermint. I’ve drank peppermint tea since I was a little girl and it always has a very calming effect on me. I love it–its great iced, too!
Thank you Jenn for getting that discount for us. I ordered the regular flavor and can hardly wait until it gets here…
Jenn-a…ooops
The grey monster isn’t the most visually appealing drink in the world, but I’m glad it was still good.
What happened to the comment about extreme dieting? I’ve actually been wondering the same thing lately. Your meals have changed lately into what seems to be a rather structured diet. I don’t see much of the everyday type of things you used to eat and that are common in most people’s lives. Are you making a change in your diet?
Sue,
I can say with 100% honestly that I really don’t know what you are talking about. I don’t feel at all I eat any different than I ever have and I’m not making any changes (that I know about!). If you still have a question, feel free to email me. I feel like things like bananas, salad, peanut butter, veggie burgers, chicken and pizza are pretty common in most people’s lives……?
