Last night, after cooking a huge pot of channa masala and almost burning the apartment down baking homemade naan bread, I discovered greatness.
You see, you take the linzer cookies, skip the jam and just load them up with Nutella.
Because at the end of the day, after we have set the oven on fire, gotten tomato puree on our contact lens and been forced to take a cold shower after excessive dish washing, don’t we all just need a chocolate sandwich cookie (or five) in our life?
Off to go clean the oil spill from my oven.Β If I don’t return by this evening, send out reinforcements.
Or another jar off Nutella.

October 9, 2010 at 9:10 amToo funny! I bet Nutella on cookies would be amazing, after all, why stop at bread?!
(PS – My favorite way to enjoy Nutella will always be by the spoonful.) π

October 9, 2010 at 9:15 amha! this sounds SO familiar. After burning my first batch of bread cubes for my Weekend Brie Strata to an absaloute charcoal crisp, I sat down with a nice bowl of caramel pastry cream(leftover from making eclairs!) and banana slices and whipped cream and peanuts…..and life was suddenly good! I went on to bread cube success!

Lord knows I do.
If only my apartment was conducive to making baked goods. I have no surfaces. The ugly, dark side to apartment living in San Francisco. Sad.

October 9, 2010 at 9:39 amI’ll take Nutella on just about everything! I recently baked mini banana chocolate chip muffins at my son’s one room school house with his class of 5 and we used Nutella as the frosting. I had 5 VERY excited K-1 students!

October 9, 2010 at 10:02 amI miss renting, wherein I can destroy someone else’s oven. A security deposit is a small price to pay for homemade naan.

October 9, 2010 at 10:08 amI like nutella but for me it to sweet on it’s own so I have to dip something salty in it. My favorite is either popcorn or crackers! I know it sounds odd but I love that sweet/salty combination.

October 9, 2010 at 10:43 amYummy! We had Nutella last night on graham crackers:)

October 9, 2010 at 12:12 pmQuestion — when you were setting the oven on fire, were you still tipsy with wine and oysters and salmon fighting each other in your stomach?
No judgments!! I mean, drunk or sober, I still create a huge mess wherever I go.

October 9, 2010 at 12:36 pm“and almost burning the apartment down baking homemade naan bread”–
I did that last week with tofu. I swear it went from not done to setting off a 4 alarm fire in like 2 mins. And nothing like the smell of burnt tofu to linger in the house for a few days. Or 5. Ewww.
The only recourse for that is this, of course!!!! “donβt we all just need a chocolate sandwich cookie (or five) in our life?”
YES!

November 2, 2010 at 6:03 amThis blog sums up what I love about you. You’re just a normal girl who gives in to Nutella when the time is needed. This is coming from the girl who on bad day grabs the Nutella and a spoon. Sometimes we all need to just eat what we love and not worry about whether we should be eating it or not.
