New Month, New Jar

September 1, 2009

Good morning and happy September 1st!!!!

Fall is my very favorite season and even though it’s still blazing hot in Florida, this day still puts me in the spirit. This morning my alarm went off at 6 to run but after bandaging up my feet, having a snack and getting my running clothes on, I realized that every step I took still hurt and it just wasn’t worth it. So, what did I do? I had the other half of my breakfast, turned back off my lights and lay in the dark listening to Shane & Shane for 45 minutes. It was amazing and felt a lot better than a painful run. Love those guys.

The first part of my breakfast was a piece of Ezekiel bread with almond butter, preserves and half a banana. I didn’t exactly photograph it though….

New month, new jar of almond butter. I love it.

The second part of my breakfast was a pomegranate chobani with a little Udi’s granola and the other banana half:

I’ve decided I love this flavor of Chobani (love the seeds!) BUT if I didn’t know, I would never think it was pomegranate. I would think strawberry. I love the idea of this flavor though and think it should be more pomegranate-y! Of course Udi’s granola is freakin’ amazing….if you have never tried it, you must. Divine.

Today I am starting a new little “job”…..I will be volunteering some of my time over the next few weeks working at my yoga studio in exchange for classes. I won’t be teaching yoga, of course, but I will be checking in students, cleaning the studio and answering the phone. Every shift I work I get a free class, so I’ll probably be working a couple times a week so I can go to all my favorites. It works out nicely.

Have a wonderful day—don’t forget your Pumpkin Spice Latte!! ;)

I love “Yearn” by Shane & Shane. I saw them in Milwaukee a year ago when they were on the Glory Revealed tour – also got to see Mac Powell – what a treat!!

New month, new jar… but let’s be honest, how long will that jar last? :)

Awesome plan to work for your yoga classes. That’s the perfect way to fit yoga into your budget.

Whoa–what a great idea. I need to see if my Pilates studio will do that swap with me! Volunteering versus $25/class… would be muy muy beneficial!

As much as I love the Pumpkin Spice latte, I’m not ready for it… Here in Chicago, we don’t get too much summer… and I’m going to pretend it’s still summer until the snow tells me otherwise!

Fall is my fav time of the year, too! I cannot wait till the leaves start changing, I can wear sweaters and jeans to class (with sandals, of course!) and the crisp, clean air makes me feel revitalized and alive!

Such an awesome idea to work at the studio for classes…I might have to look into doing that myself! So cannot afford my local studio…
Glad you are loving the pomegranate chobani – yep, it’s the seeds that do it!!

Stephanie September 1, 2009 at 2:43 pm

I love the Pomegranate choboni! A lot of people actually don’t like it for some reason.
I’ve always wanted to try Almond butter but it’s so dang expensive!

I mean I know I don’t really know you. I’ve been reading your blog for quite some time though. I just wanted to say that you seem to have such a more positive attitude lately. It’s great to see! Continue to put your faith in God and everything will work out!

Jenny September 1, 2009 at 6:01 pm

I am seriously considering making it a point to start off each new month with a new jar :) at least it’ll give me something to look forward to as the months so quickly pass by me!

Jenn September 1, 2009 at 6:25 pm

Your dinner last night looked fabulous…and since you couldn’t stop raving about it, are you going to post the recipe?!?! Congrats on the awesome yoga deal. Works out perfectly for both of you:)

Oh my I love pumpkin spice lattes! So excited for autumn (as I’m sure many people here are). I’ve been lurking on your blog for way too long, and I just started my own and thought I’d finally come out of hiding and do a little shameless self-promotion. Your blog is one of the first few I ever read, so thanks for introducing me to this little world. I love the blog!

Sara September 1, 2009 at 7:22 pm

I just made a post on my public health blog about autumn. Good thing you have a good attitude toward the changing seasons — my post was about staving off the fall blues!

kylie grethen September 1, 2009 at 8:33 pm
