Winter Means Pancakes!

Morning! Happy Friday :)

This weather!!

And this seems so far away:

(that’s Tampa weather, by the way)

Alas, all is still well here in foggy cold Northern California. Great weather for writing, right??! ;)

I started my day with a big bowl of oat bran!

IMG_2879

I used 1/2 c oat bran, 1 cup water, 1 banana, 1/2 scoop protein powder, pumpkin butter and almond butter. A bunch of y’all have asked if I “melt” my almond butter….no. I guess my almond butter is always just runny! I don’t know!

I’m about to go meet Kelly for coffee and girltalk at our favorite place then back home to get a couple more chapters churned out.

However……I’m in the holiday spirit (and the Friday spirit) and thus have another giveaway for y’all! :)

(you knew it was coming!)

Since so many of you have told me you can’t find Kodiak Cakes mix anywhere, I thought it would make for a really fun giveaway! The kind Kodiak people have generously offered FOUR gift packs with six mixes in each. Each pack will have two flapjack mixes, one brownie mix, one cookie mix, one berry mountain syrup (yummy) and one raspberry syrup.

Sound good?

To enter in the giveaway leave a comment on this post telling me what your favorite pancake toppings are. Get creative! I’ll randomly pick four winners this evening.

Ready, set, GO! :)

Topping are not my thing, but my favorite pancakes are sweetpotato pancakes. If you haven’t tried them, they are worth looking for.

Boy do you get comments when you give prizes! Thinking I might try the pumpkin butter on pancakes this weekend!

My favs are peanut butter and bananas!

My flavors aren’t very original. Before the pancakes are done, I gently place some chocolate chips on top and then a little pat of butter. When they are on my plate, I smash the chocolate butter together and indulge! Yum.

Blueberry Pancakes with Vermont maple syrup!
This looks like a fantastically yummy give-away, THANKS Jenna. You’ve done so much since I’ve been checking out your blog (not even that long!), I’m a writer too and your story has been inspirational.

My favourite pancake topping is plain ole maple syrup. Boring perhaps, but it’s a classic for a reason ;)

adria December 11, 2009 at 7:57 pm

Kelly December 11, 2009 at 7:58 pm

I have a few:
-peanut butter and syrup

Seriously, the weather has been ridiculous! It’s been unbelievably cold and windy! Pancakes seem like the perfect food for it.

Michelle December 12, 2009 at 8:17 am

I am such a weirdo. I make four small pancakes and put one topping on each of them: strawberry jam (or pumpkin butter), honey, syrup and peanut and honey. ;) What can I say, variety is the spice of life!

Jenni December 12, 2009 at 9:05 am

Lots of real butter and maple syrup…but sometimes whipped cream!!
I actually ordered some of their stuff last year ONLY because I saw it on your blog!!
